What is Steampunk?

What is Steampunk? It is a genre born out of the imaginations of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells embracing Victorian technology and fashion with a touch of fantastical whimsy reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland and Treasure Island. Today this active fan culture holds events around the world with vendors, special presentation, workshops, music and movies to inspire the Steampunk in you.

It evokes the worlds of HG Wells and Jules Verne, along with more modern authors including Tim Powers and Gail Carriger, plus many other authors. We are transported by films like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Wild Wild West, Hugo, The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec, and Steamboy, into worlds where the past and the future are steam driven to a new future.
